Backbending Workshop Saturday May, 20th from 11am to 1pm
The secret to a joyous and healthy backbend has less to do with a supple spine than you may think. This family of energizing postures require the shoulders and hip flexors be opened, the quads and arms are strengthened and the upper back is awakened. When these parts of the body work together a backbend lengthens and opens the spine, or strengthens it, rather than crunching the lower back.
In this workshop, students will learn the mechanics of a healthy backbend and be given modifications to begin or sustain an intelligent backbending practice. All levels are welcome!
Please bring 2 blocks and a yoga strap or belt. These items are also available to rent at the studio. $40
Meditation Workshop Saturday, May 20th from 1:30pm to 2:45pm
Learn the basics of sitting meditation and how it applies to your Bikram practice in this interactive workshop. We will not be meditation the whole time so don't be scared! Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. The room will not be heated. This workshop stands alone and will segue nicely with the Backbending Workshop. $20
