Backbending Workshop and Meditation Workshop with Rich Ray on May 20th

Join us on May 20th for 2 interesting and informative workshops led by Rich Ray:

Backbending Workshop Saturday May, 20th from 11am to 1pm

The secret to a joyous and healthy backbend has less to do with a supple spine than you may think. This family of energizing postures require the shoulders and hip flexors be opened, the quads and arms are strengthened and the upper back is awakened. When these parts of the body work together a backbend lengthens and opens the spine, or strengthens it, rather than crunching the lower back.

In this workshop, students will learn the mechanics of a healthy backbend and be given modifications to begin or sustain an intelligent backbending practice. All levels are welcome!

Please bring 2 blocks and a yoga strap or belt. These items are also available to rent at the studio. $40

Meditation Workshop Saturday, May 20th from 1:30pm to 2:45pm

Learn the basics of sitting meditation and how it applies to your Bikram practice in this interactive workshop. We will not be meditation the whole time so don't be scared! Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. The room will not be heated. This workshop stands alone and will segue nicely with the Backbending Workshop. $20

30 Day Challenge Kicks Off on May 1st

30 classes in 30 days? Really?

Yes.

May 1st we will be starting the Spring 30 Day Challenge at BYC! The challenge is to complete 30 Yoga or Hot Pilates classes in 30 days. One double per week is permitted, if needed. So, why a 30 Day Challenge? Well:

* Build a new habit

* Take some time for you, every day.

* Meet and build a support team with your fellow yogis. We are all in the same boat and dealing with our own stuff. Make a friend to help keep you accountable and in class!

* Challenge yourself once, meet and exceed your expectations, and then imagine the possibilities!

* What do you have to lose? 

May 1st through May 31st, regular class rates apply. 

Try the Intermediate Series!

Join us on Friday, February 3rd at 6:30pm for the first Intermediate Class at Bikram Yoga Concord!

The Intermediate Class uses the strong physical and mental focus learned in the beginning series as the foundation to lead us to a more advanced yoga practice. This class offers students techniques for moving into further expressions in familiar postures from the beginner’s practice, as well as learn new postures and develop new abilities.  It is 90 minutes and less formal. We will practice the 26 postures of the Beginner Series and explore new ones!

This class is included with all class cards, monthly and yearly memberships, and the Intro Special. The Intermediate Class is $15 to drop in.

We will be adding the Intermediate Class to our schedule on Thursdays at noon starting on February 9th. See you there!

Inferno Hot Pilates Classes Start 1/28

Starting on January 28th, 2017 Bikram Yoga Concord will be offering Inferno Hot Pilates Classes. Inferno Hot Pilates is a 60 minute class using interval training and Pilates principles. It is a high-intensity, low-impact workout. The class is done in a 95 degree room with an upbeat soundtrack. Inferno Hot Pilates is a great compliment to your Bikram Yoga practice, it strengthens the core and increases flexibility. It is also wicked fun! All you need is a yoga mat, towel, and some water for class. The Inferno Hot Pilates classes will be at 7:30am on Saturdays and 6:30pm on Tuesdays. These new classes are included with your unlimited packages and class cards. $15 to drop in.
